Cherokees beat Invicata Imps 14-1 in Challenge match - Saturday, November 03, 2007

The Cherokees travelled to Gillingham to face Invicta Imps in a challenge match on Saturday 3 November, enabling the team to gain more practice as the season progresses. The match was a resounding success, with a 14-1 victory.

Goals came from almost the whole squad, with Sam Jackson scoring the first and last goals, and hattricks for Oliver Baldock, James Dimond and Michael Dervish. There was even a one-minute spell in the second period where four goals were scored! Spirit of the Match was awarded to Charlie Ascott.

This was a very good performance by the whole team, and gives them the confidence to build on for the next League game on Nov 25.

Cherokees beat Peterborough 8-4 - Saturday, October 06, 2007

The Chelmsford Cherokees travelled to Peterborough on Saturday 6th October for their first full ice league game of the 2007/2008 season.

The Cherokees opened their account with a 15 second goal from Michael Dervish and continued to dominate the game throughout ending the game as 8-4 victors with another 3 goals dubiously disallowed !

Special mentions have to go to Ollie Baldock as Man of the Match and Thomas Dimond as Spirit of the Match who alongside , Callum , Robert and Jack played their first ever games of Ice Hockey.

A good performance was put in by all and gives us a solid base to build on going into our next few games.

Lee Valley X-Ice a success - Sunday, September 23, 2007

Chelmsford Cherokees attended the Cross ice games at Lee Valley this sunday and a good time was had by all , these cross ice games give the players the chance to play in a less competitive environment allowing them to concentrate on the fun element of the sport without the pressure of going for a win as no scores or stats are kept ( well not officially anyhow ).

This was an excellent opportunity for all our newer players to gain some valuable game playing experience to take into our first full league game in October at Peterborough
